About Pippa Jane Intimacy
Hi! I’m Pippa Walton.
she / her pronouns | operating on the ancestral lands of the Schaghticoke, Munsee Lanape, & Wappinger peoples
I’m an intimacy choreographer and coordinator, hand-to-hand fight choreographer, stage manager, director, LARPer, and massive nerd when it comes to human connection.
I’ve been working in theatrical production since 2015, specifically in intimacy and fight choreography since 2021. My background in sex and consent education, gender studies, anthropology, advocacy, and kink practices, grants me perspective that enhances the customisation I can offer to a process. Making performance, in every format, a joyful, playful experience for performers and producers has been the most fulfilling experience of my career, and I love sharing that enthusiasm with others.
Why intimacy?
My intimacy career began in college while running the student theatrical organization at the University of San Francisco. I attended my first workshop with an intimacy choreography and consent-forward theatrical team and realized what a difference this work could make in this field.
Since that time, my education in Social Work alongside my experiences in trauma recovery and psychiatric care have shaped how I view consent work. Any group that places value on safe intimacy inherently challenges gender-specific violence, coercive environments, and White supremacy. It is my honour to be a part of this culture shift, and Pippa Jane Intimacy seeks to make this support accessible for a wide range of companies.
Why People Trust me
I train with Theatrical Intimacy Education, an organisation focused on live performance and a wide range of ever-evolving topics and techniques, and Open Intimacy Creatives, an organisation focused on community-based learning and goals. Neither organisation buys into the concept of a “final certification,” to challenge the idea that anyone is ever truly done learning. Therefore, you can assume I am constantly training, updating my education, and immersing myself in best practices as the field of intimacy choreography changes and grows. I consider this flexibility a point of pride and a highlight of working together. My fight choreography training is also an ongoing journey and I cannot wait to grow in this sphere.
